The Colorama SkatePark at Condition Publique
Colorama, an indoor skatepark created by designer Yinka Ilori in partnership with the Decathlon Foundation and Décathlon Skateboarding, takes up residence in Hall B of La Condition Publique. A true crossroads for riders and skaters, this singular space fuses sport and street art, offering an unprecedented setting for skateboarding.
On October 11, 2018, at the Condition Publique (Roubaix), the members of the Board of Directors of the Decathlon Foundation supported the project of Jean-Philippe Rode (Skate Product Manager at Decathlon), his team, and the Condition Publique to build a skatepark accessible to all to develop the practice in the Haut de France!
September 18, 2020: Colorama is open!
The Colorama project
The skatepark is open all year round to beginners and experienced skateboarders alike, and will also offer training sessions with sports instructors for those who wish to take part!
To this end, Jean-Philippe Rode and his team have been involved in the skatepark’s structure throughout the design process, so that future skateboarders can practice in the best possible conditions!
For Jean-Philippe, Decathlon teammate, “the aim of the project is to bring together and mobilize the entire community of skateboard, scooter, BMX and rollerblade enthusiasts around a unique venue combining sport and street art”.
This project will also raise awareness of the jobs offered by Decathlon. The Skate team is committed to offering internships and job interviews to the most motivated young skateboarders interested in the careers offered by Decathlon.
It’s an opportunity for these young people to discover how products are designed and marketed!
