Terre et Mer
Many unaccompanied minors (UAMs) arrive in France via the Spanish border. These young people are in precarious situations and in great psychological distress. The Don Bosco Institute via its MNA 64 branch, does an incredible job of supporting them.
The Terre et Mer project
Young people are more than willing to integrate into French society, meet new people, play sports and get training to help them find employment when they come of age.
The Nabaiji – Decathlon Hendaye teams wanted to make sport accessible to these young people. To do this, they introduced them to the region’s leading activities, to help them get to know the area better.
On the program: surfing, pala, hiking, beach volleyball and much more.
Learning to swim is also an objective of this project, supported by the expertise and adapted products of Nabaiji and the Watersport Center in Hendaye.
Employability program
At the same time, the Anglet store joined the project to set up an employability program for these young people These include workshops on life skills, support in career planning, and the discovery of new professions. Individual and group sessions are organized every month.
